CANONBURY SQUARE, LONDON N1
Completed in 2005 the project consists of the full restoration of this 5 storey Grade 2 listed Georgian building, located on the north-west corner of Canonbury Square, N1. The works also included a substantial excavation towards the rear to accommodate a full width kitchen which opens onto a sunken garden and a viewing gallery above.
The rear extension makes use of contemporary and partially transparent materials in order to minimise the impact on the listed building, while emphasising the transition between old and new.
